Romantic New Year's Eve Wedding at Oak Meadow Event Center in Ohatchee, Alabama
Have you ever wished it would feel like southwest Florida on New Year's Eve? Apparently someone did, because Anna and Andrew's New Year's Eve wedding at Oak Meadow Event Center in Ohatchee, Alabama straight up felt like when we used to live in Cape Coral. I can't complain too much because the muggy, overcast weather produced the most perfect filtered light. The super awesome thing about their wedding was it was in Alabama in central time. I noticed this the day before the wedding and even called the wedding planner just to double check Google wasn't lying to me. This makes a lot of sense now since Anna and Andrew were late to their engagement shoot in Atlanta last summer. They definitely got the short end of the stick coming from central to eastern and losing an hour. Regardless, we couldn't have asked for a better couple to spend New Year's Eve with. Anna had an awesome vintage inspired dress (which happened to be dress number 2 and was actually secondhand. In its first life, it had been worn at a wedding in Italy!) and Andrew had a classic black suit. I was pretty obsessed with Anna's earrings (featured below) from A.B. Ellie. They were the perfect mix of gold, showy but not gaudy, and everything a southern girl loves -- magnolias.
Anna had one of the sweetest grandmas we have had the pleasure of meeting. She really was the life of the reception. In truth, Anna and Andrew's entire family and friends were so generous, hospitable, and kind. I think Alabama takes southern hospitality to a whole new level. They really have Georgia beat.
